Monday's Championship predictions including Leicester City vs. Norwich City

Leicester vs. Norwich (Monday, 12.30pm)

Now outside of the Championship's automatic promotion positions on account of their calamitous collapse, Leicester City endeavour to end their rut on Easter Monday, when they welcome Norwich City to the King Power Stadium.

The Foxes were punished for squandering several openings in a 1-0 Good Friday loss to Bristol City, while the Canaries fought back from a goal down to see off Plymouth Argyle 2-1.

We say: Leicester City 2-2 Norwich City

Leicester were not without their chances in Friday's excruciating loss to Bristol City - Vardy had simply left his best shooting boots in the locker room - and the Foxes now come up against a Norwich side whose performance on the road has left a lot to be desired all season long.

Wagner's men are in a good moment attacking wise, though, and the Canaries evidently have the resources to trouble the out-of-sorts hosts from dead ball situations, so we anticipate a share of the spoils in an entertaining draw between these two Premier League hopefuls.

Birmingham vs. Preston (Monday, 3.00pm)

Seeking to address their alarming slide towards the bottom three, Birmingham City will welcome Preston North End to St Andrew's @ Knighthead Park for a Championship clash on Monday afternoon.

Blues are on the brink of entering the relegation places following a heartbreaking defeat at Queens Park Rangers, whereas the Lilywhites are aiming for the top six after smashing Rotherham United.

We say: Birmingham City 1-1 Preston North End

With relegation becoming more of a possibility as the season progresses, Birmingham need a positive result to halt a worrying slide since the loss of Mowbray.

Preston are aiming to string a couple of wins together in order to keep pace with the top six, but we feel that the Lilywhites will have to settle for a point here.

Coventry vs. Cardiff (Monday, 3.00pm)

Looking to record their fifth-straight victory across all competitions, Coventry City will welcome a stuttering Cardiff City side to the Coventry Building Society Arena on Monday afternoon in the Championship.

The Sky Blues are racing towards the top six following a win at Huddersfield Town last time out, whilst the Bluebirds are marooned in mid-table after a home defeat to Sunderland on Good Friday.

We say: Coventry City 3-1 Cardiff City

Coventry have found their rhythm at a vital point in the season and should be very confident of extending their winning run versus Cardiff on Easter Monday.

The Bluebirds are marooned in mid-table, and with speculation around Bulut's future certainly not helping the players, we are expecting a defeat for the visitors in the East Midlands.

Middlesbrough vs. Sheff Weds (Monday, 3.00pm)

Middlesbrough play host to Sheffield Wednesday on Easter Monday looking for the win that will keep the club with an outside chance of earning a Championship playoff spot.

At a time when Boro sit in 10th position in the standings, the visitors are down in 23rd spot, albeit just two points adrift of 20th-placed Plymouth Argyle.

We say: Middlesbrough 2-1 Sheffield Wednesday

Despite the difference in league positions, this has the makings of being a hard-fought contest. We fancy Wednesday to be competitive throughout, perhaps even leading at one stage, but Boro are playing with the kind of confidence that suggests that they could prevail through a late goal.

Plymouth vs. Bristol City (Monday, 3.00pm)

Aiming to boost their chances of avoiding an immediate return to League One, Plymouth Argyle will welcome a resurgent Bristol City side to Home Park on Monday afternoon in the Championship.

The Pilgrims ended the month of March on a sour note by losing in East Anglia to Norwich City, whilst the Robins produced a standout performance to down a faltering Leicester City in the West Country.

We say: Plymouth Argyle 2-1 Bristol City

Regardless of their recent struggles, Plymouth will be targeting Monday's home match as a massive opportunity to earn maximum points in their bid for survival.

Bristol City had to be on top form to secure victory over Leicester last time out, although we feel that the Robins' inconsistency is set to strike once more at Home Park.

Rotherham vs. Millwall (Monday, 3.00pm)

Rotherham United play host to Millwall on Easter Monday knowing that they realistically require all three points to put off relegation from the Championship for another few days.

Meanwhile, Millwall appear to be on the cusp of escaping a battle to avoid the drop, the Lions now in 16th position in the standings.

We say: Rotherham United 1-2 Millwall

While Rotherham will give everything to find a small bit more respectability in this league, that may not prove enough to earn a result here. Millwall have been extremely solid under Harris, and we are anticipating a narrow victory at the New York Stadium.

Stoke vs. Huddersfield (Monday, 3.00pm)

The bet365 Stadium is the location for an Easter Monday Championship bottom-half scrap, as Stoke City pit their wits against relegation-threatened Huddersfield Town.

The Potters ran out 2-0 victors on Hull City's turf on a particularly Good Friday, although festive joy is limited in the Terriers' ranks owing to a 3-1 home loss to Coventry City.

We say: Stoke City 2-1 Huddersfield Town

The praiseworthy performances of Huddersfield's substitutes on Good Friday was a rare positive for Breitenreiter, and the fresh legs of the Terriers' replacements - as well as nine-assist man Thomas - should ask a few questions of the Potters' backline.

However, Schumacher's men are riding the crest of a wave, and despite their lacklustre attacking displays at home in recent months, the hosts have our backing to capitalise on Huddersfield's rearguard woes and increase their lead over the dreaded drop zone.

Sunderland vs. Blackburn (Monday, 3.00pm)

Fresh from masterminding his first victory as interim Sunderland manager, Mike Dodds returns to the Stadium of Light on Monday, when Blackburn Rovers arrive for a Championship clash.

The Black Cats earned a Jobe Bellingham-inspired 2-0 win over Cardiff City on Good Friday, while their visitors were unable to prevent Ipswich Town surging to the top of the rankings.

We say: Sunderland 2-1 Blackburn Rovers

Whether Friday's impressive beating of Cardiff is the catalyst for better attacking fortunes for Sunderland only time will tell, but Dodds's men arrive on Monday as the firm favourites to see off a Blackburn side whose away form has been lacklustre throughout 2024.

Eustace's men showed enough offensive endeavour against Ipswich to suggest that they can breach the Sunderland goal, but the Black Cats should bite back harder to put another dent in their visitors' survival bid.

Swansea vs. QPR (Monday, 3.00pm)

Swansea City play host to Queens Park Rangers on Easter Monday with the opportunity to move to the brink of all-but-guaranteeing survival in the Championship for another season.

At a time when the Welsh outfit sit in 15th position in the standings and eight points clear of the relegation zone, QPR find themselves in 18th spot, their highest place since the early stages of the campaign.

We say: Swansea City 1-2 Queens Park Rangers

Having improved considerably under Williams, Swansea will back themselves to earn at least a share of the spoils here. Nevertheless, QPR can finally play with some extra freedom in this contest and we feel that will lead to another dramatic victory for Cifuentes's men.

West Brom vs. Watford (Monday, 3.00pm)

Aiming to maintain their tight grip on a playoff place, West Bromwich Albion will welcome a new-look Watford side to The Hawthorns for an Easter Monday offering of Championship action.

The Baggies secured a point away at struggling Millwall on Good Friday, whilst the Hornets forced promotion-chasing Leeds United to share the spoils at Vicarage Road.

We say: West Bromwich Albion 2-1 Watford

West Brom have been renowned for their stellar home form this season, and we are expecting the Baggies to continue their Black Country form on Easter Monday.

Watford went toe-to-toe with Premier League-bound Leeds at Vicarage Road on Good Friday, but we believe that a trip to The Hawthorns will yield no returns for Cleverley's troops.

Ipswich vs. Southampton (Monday, 5.30pm)

Looking down on the other 23 teams in the Championship, new leaders Ipswich Town host another Premier League-chasing outfit in Southampton at Portman Road on Monday.

The Tractor Boys rode their luck against Blackburn Rovers but ultimately emerged triumphant by a goal to nil on Good Friday, while their visitors made do with a point against Middlesbrough.

We say: Ipswich Town 2-2 Southampton

As ruthless as Ipswich have been in front of goal at Portman Road, the Championship leaders are prone to a defensive collapse in front of their own fans, music to the ears of a free-scoring Southampton unit.

However, with Martin's men also struggling for clean sheets in the second tier, the victory that the visitors crave may elude them, and a high-scoring stalemate could be on the cards here.

Leeds vs. Hull City (Monday, 8.00pm)

Leeds United play host to Hull City on Easter Monday looking for the win that they may require to remain in the automatic promotion places in the Championship table.

While Leeds sit one point adrift of leaders Ipswich Town, Hull are at risk of dropping out of contention for the playoffs after five games without a victory.

We say: Leeds United 2-0 Hull City

At some point, this Hull side may click back into gear given the quality that they have in the final third. However, this is the worst possible game for them at this stage, and we do not see them challenging a relentless Leeds side at Elland Road.
