In his first campaign with the club, Pjanic made 30 appearances, but he was deemed to be surplus to requirements last term and was subsequently sent out on loan to Besiktas.
Following the conclusion of his loan spell, the 32-year-old was expected to be one of a number of players to depart as Barcelona try to free up wage space to register their new signings.
However, according to Marca, the Catalan giants are now considering their stance after Pjanic impressed in the friendly encounter against Juventus in midweek.
Speaking to reporters after the game, Barcelona boss Xavi commented on Pjanic's performance: "He has an extraordinary technical quality and has a vision of football that few have in the first touch.
"He gives us a lot with the ball. We'll see what happens between now and the end of the transfer window, but against Juventus, he had a very good second half."
While Pjanic's future will be considered by the La Liga club, they will also weigh up potential departures for Memphis Depay and Frenkie de Jong, who have both been linked with moves away in the current transfer window.
