Manchester City have made Brighton left-back Marc Cucurella one of their top targets ahead of the summer transfer window.
The left-back position has become a problem area for Pep Guardiola in recent seasons, and he is of the opinion that his compatriot can be the solution.
Cucurella joined Brighton last summer from Getafe and he has made 34 appearances this season, earning the plaudits of many fans and pundits along the way. He recently scored his first goal for the Seagulls, which came against Manchester United.
No full-back in the Premier League has won possession more times this season than Cucurella, having done so 241 times.
How much would Cucurella cost?
Brighton paid 15.4 million pounds for Cucurella in the summer, but reports in England claim that it will take at least double that to see him turning out in sky blue next season.
Having already confirmed the signing of Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland, it is clear that, as is often the case, City intend to get their summer business done early.
Cucurella is still only 23 and is able to play in a more forward role on the left side, which appeals to Guardiola.
The defender spent six years in Barcelona's academy before going on to play for Eibar, Getafe and Brighton.
