Declan Rice was West Ham's hero once again as the Hammers cruelly ended Kidderminster Harriers' FA Cup dream, and any hopes of Manchester United signing the midfielder for £100million have been ended.
The midfielder who was formally in the Chelsea academy, has climbed through the ranks at West Ham and is now one of the most wanted Premier League stars.
After an emphatic summer at the European Championships with England, Rice has kicked on again this season, and showed his leadership once again as he fired a late equaliser against Kidderminster, before Jarrod Bowen's late winner in injury time sent the Hammers through to the fifth round.
United have been interested in Rice for some time, but the £100m that was quoted in the summer, is now been branded as 'cheap' by David Moyes.
United are in desperate need of a holding midfielder, and there are perhaps no better Premier League options at the moment than Rice, who is certainly captain material for the future.
With Paul Pogba seemingly on the way out at the end of the season, and Scott McTominay and Fred lacking consistency as a midfield pairing, it's expected that United will go all out for a new star in the summer.
However, they have been warned by Moyes that they will find it very difficult to sign Rice, who has no intention of selling his vice-captain, as the former United boss has said that £100m was a 'sale' price.
Ahead of West Ham's success in the fourth round of the FA Cup, Moyes said: "I said in the summer that I thought Declan Rice was £100million. That was the sales, that was cheap, that was your chance to get Declan Rice cheap.
"Declan Rice is right up with some of the best players I've certainly had. It's his potential as well to get better because of his age. There's a potential for him to improve and mature better because of his age.
"When you're 23 years old and you're playing a number of games, there's a lot of room for that to improve. If you look at the England squad in the Euros who lost in the final, it would be hard to suggest that Declan Rice hasn't played as well as any other England player since those finals.
"He's under contract and we're really pleased to have him. He's like a special edition Declan Rice, there's not many like him. For me, he's arguably playing as well as any midfielder player in European football.
"Special edition means that there are very few people like him out there. It's like buying something that there aren't many of them. He is a special, special edition, a special player and for me he is probably the best midfield player in Europe at this present time."
Rice has been subject to interest from United, Chelsea and Manchester City, with the three clubs considering making an offer in the summer, according to the Daily Telegraph.
But it would have to smash the current Premier League transfer record to make West Ham even consider a sale, and Rice looks happy at the London Stadium to make matters even more complicated.
