Amad scored twice for Rangers and Christian Eriksen produced two assists for Brentford in a 2-2 draw in Glasgow on Monday afternoon, played behind closed doors

Manchester United teenager Amad scored twice for Rangers in their behind-closed-doors friendly against Brentford on Monday afternoon.

Denmark international Christian Eriksen, who hasn't played a competitive fixture since suffering a cardiac arrest last June, featured for the Bees in the 2-2 draw.

The game was held at Auchenhowie - Rangers' training ground in Glasgow - with the visitors taking the lead in the 15th minute.

A corner from Eriksen was nodded in by his international team-mate Mathias "Zanka" Jorgensen. It was a sign of things to come from the former Tottenham midfielder.

Then came Amad's brace. After getting on the end Mateusz Zukowski's cross for the equaliser, the United loanee pounced on Kemar Roofe's missed penalty to make it 2-1.

Rangers deployed a strong XI, which included Steven Davis and Glen Kamara.

Amad was brought off at half-time, but Eriksen remained on the pitch and assisted Tristan Crama's equaliser from a set-piece. He was substituted in the 76th minute.

The United youngster, who joined Rangers on loan in January, has made a bright start to his Ibrox career - scoring on his debut against Ross County last month.

"You could see that he was a constant threat every single time he got on the ball and he got on the score sheet," said Rangers star Joe Aribeo after Amad's debut.

Rangers manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst added: "You could see his quality.

"I mean he made the first goal he was very good in the space in the second post, you could see what he can give to the team.

"He's got the talent but we had to take him off because he didn't have the rhythm like other players. Overall, it was a good performance by him."

Eriksen, meanwhile, is hoping to make his Premier League comeback shortly.

The Dane, who signed for Brentford in January, also provided an assist in behind-closed-doors friendly against National League outfit Southend United earlier this month.

Eriksen was released by former club Inter Milan in December after he was barred from playing in Serie A due to having an implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) fitted.

An ICD is small pacemaker-like device that is able to perform defibrillation if the Brentford star suffers another cardiac arrest.

"I have done a lot of running and a lot of tests, so the condition is good," Eriksen told BBC Sport when asked about his return at the beginning of February.

"But the football touch is something you get in games - to get there is still a few more weeks.

"At the moment, when the coach sees me fit and wants me to play then I'll be able to.

"But at the moment we just take it day by day... it has been a long build-up and it still is going to be a long build up from day to day.

"It feels like it is getting closer and [I am] patient for the right timing."
