The Red Devils pulled off an incredible second-half comeback against the Villans at Old Trafford, with Alejandro Garnacho finding the net twice and Rasmus Hojlund scoring his first Premier League goal to seal a 3-2 victory.
United's goalscorers were the only two players talkSPORT Breakfast co-host Dean Saunders praised following the win.
In fact, despite their spirited comeback, the former Liverpool striker would bin a large number of Erik ten Hag's players at the first opportunity.
When reflecting on the Red Devils' torrid first-half performance on Tuesday that saw them go 2-0 down thanks to goals from John McGinn and Leander Dendoncker, Saunders said: "The secret for me, the secret of football - if there is one - is sign good players, which is harder than it sounds, and get them to work hard.
"That's what Liverpool are falling back on right now. Man City are the same. They always fall back on... 'even if our passing is off and we're not finishing chances, we're hard to play against because we'll work hard'.

"Man United, for me, don't work hard enough. There are a lot of players there who have survived five managers and they've got to leave the club. You got through that team last night...
"Obviously the manager is trying to get rid of a lot of them and the players know as well."
Directing his question at co-host and former Premier League star Jamie O'Hara, Saunders continued: "If I tried to get rid of you when you were at Wolves and you knew I tried to get rid of you, are you going to pull trees up for me when we're losing 2-0 at half-time?
"You're not are you? You're going to go, 'Why are you having a go at me? You've tried to sell me three times'."

When asked who he would get rid of, personally, Saunders answered: "How long have you got?
"For a start I would've got rid of [David] de Gea because he was there for 12 years and he just sat behind the back-four and didn't open his mouth. Peter Schmeichel would've had them all by the throat!
Post-match press conference: Erik ten Hag (Premier League: Manchester United 3-2 Aston Villa)
"He's not even got a club, and that tells you how much he loves football! I think the candle's gone out for him."
Saunders believes there are a number of players still at the club who need to go, too.
He continued: "[Marcus] Rashford has been there too long. [Anthony] Martial, I'll drive him to the airport. Antony, drive him to the airport.
"Luke Shaw has been there too long. [Diogo] Dalot's not good enough. [Raphael] Varane, he's a good player obviously but it's not worked for him. Ten Hag's tried to get rid of Varane.
"Jonny Evans is not good enough now, so there's the back-four. [Aaron] Wan-Bissaka, he's tried to get rid of him. He's got rid of Fred. [Scott] McTominay, the manager has obviously shown he doesn't think he's good enough, but he gets goals."
When asked why McTominay isn't good enough, considering he's scored five goals in 16 appearances, Saunders said: "Yeah, but he's not good enough to play for Man United, in my opinion. If you play for Man United in midfield, you've got to be one of the best players in the world in midfield. You're not playing for Crystal Palace!"
Later in the show, Saunders took aim at four stars in particular as he and O'Hara spoke to ex-Liverpool player Ray Houghton.
