Man United star Casemiro pretends to stamp on Eriksen's injured foot after win

The Red Devils ace was instrumental for Erik ten Hag's side in the 2-0 win at Wembley.

Not only netting his side's opener on 32 minutes from a Luke Shaw freekick, Casemiro also provided the guile and control in midfield as he was named man-of-the-match.

Marcus Rashford later made it 2-0, after his effort deflected off Sven Botman, beating Newcastle goalkeeper Loris Karius.

Following the victory which ended United's six-year trophy drought, Casemiro's action certainly got Red Devils fans talking with his hyjinx.

The Brazil international can be seen cheekily pretending to stamp on injured teammate Christian Eriksen's foot.

Eriksen, who previously suffered injury in United's FA Cup victory over Reading, was seen wearing a protective boot on his left foot as players posed for photographs.

The Denmark international was joined by Shaw, David de Gea, Lisandro Martinez and Casemiro.

Rashford praised Casemiro post match, insisting he was key throughout the clash.

"He makes a huge difference," the England international said.

"His leadership and experience is huge for us and when he's on the pitch you feel that sense of security behind us."

Ten Hag also mirrored Rashford's words, whilst heaping praise on Raphael Varane and De Gea.

"They know how to win trophies," he said.

"You need them on the pitch to organise the team, especially mentally and they have a winning attitude that they bring into the dressing room."
