Many of England's top flight stars were awarded by the PFA, with Liverpool's talisman Mohamed Salah being given the Player of the Year award.
But the trade union, whose awards are voted for by its own members - the players - also opted to leave out the likes of Premier League Golden Boot winner Heung-Min Son.
The Spurs forward has kept quiet about missing out on a spot in the coveted Team of the Year, with fans and pundits doing the talking for him as they expressed outraged over his omission.
But the same can't be said for Man City defender Laporte, who was a little bit more vocal about not being selected.
The PFA chose Liverpool's Virgil van Dijk and now former Chelsea star Antonio Rudiger as the English top flight's best performing centre-backs of the season.
And this clearly didn't sit well with the Spain international, who was left out despite lifting the Premier League title.
After the Team of the Year was announced, the centre-back took to his Instagram stores to demonstrate just why he deserved to be in it - by using the words of Jose Mourinho…
He may not have spoken, exactly, but he made it quite clear what he thought of the TOTY line-up with a series of Instagram posts boasting about his incredible stats from this season.
From tweets saying he's the highest scoring centre-back, to posts showing he's had the highest passing accuracy of any player, Laporte was making his point clear to his 1.7 million followers.
Most of the posts didn't have any captions put on them by the centre-back - showing he probably thought the stats spoke for themselves.
However, he did give some context to his uploads on one of the posts, simply writing '2021/22', coupled with an eyes emoji.
Perhaps when the 2022/23 PFA vote comes around, Laporte will display these stats to his fellow players before they select their TOTY.
