The Merseyside giants are currently sitting on top of the Premier League table with a two-point advantage over nearest challengers Chelsea.
However, Liverpool find themselves a hot topic of debate with regards to the transfer market as Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah remain with just under six months left on their respective contracts.
Furthermore, Arne Slot is working with a squad that contains no bonafide prospects with the youngest members being 21 years of age.
According to the Daily Mail, Slot and the club's recruitment team have set about trying to change that for future seasons.
Ogunsuyi a potential arrival?
The report suggests that Liverpool are preparing to try to raid Sunderland for young frontman Ogunsuyi.
Already a Belgium Under-19 internatoonal, the 18-year-old has made a notable impression in Premier League 2 with the young Black Cats.
Five goals and one assist have come from just five appearances this campaign, the first of those strikes being netted against Liverpool.
Although Ogunsuyi is yet to make his senior Sunderland debut, he has been named on the substitutes' bench on three occasions for Championship fixtures during 2024-25.
A contract is in place until the end of next season, providing Sunderland with time to try to negotiate an extension with the starlet should Liverpool come calling.
Would Sunderland consider a sale?
Sunderland's main objective this season is securing promotion from the Championship. As it stands, Regis Le Bris' side sit in fourth position in the table.
Since his arrival, the Frenchman has shown a willingness to use an array of the club's academy players, contributing to working with one of the youngest squads in the second tier of English football.
Whether Ogunsuyi is provided with a chance to make an impact during 2024-25 remains to be seen, yet he can only be encouraged that Le Bris will eventually hand him an opportunity.
