Liverpool legend looks unrecognisable and fans joke 'it doesn't look right'

Liverpool legend Martin Skrtel has certainly surprised fans with his post-retirement look.

The former defender made 320 appearances for Liverpool between 2008 and 2016, and his trademark bald look is now gone.

After Anfield, Skrtel went on to play for Fenerbahce, Atalanta and Istanbul Basaksehir, before finishing his career with Spartak Trnava in his homeland.

The 38-year-old was renowned at the Reds for his no-nonsense style of defending and his shaven head made him quite an intimidating presence at the back.

Though, since retiring last summer, he has changed his hairstyle, growing just enough hair to force fans into a double-take when they see him.

Ahead of Liverpool's clash with Bayern Munich in Singapore, viewers on LFC TV were shocked to see Skrtel with a full head of hair as he conducted punditry duties.

One fan said: "Skrtel had hair the whole time he was at Liverpool and he chose to shave it."

Another added: "It will take me probably forever to get used to Martin Skrtel with a full head of hair."

A third wrote: "Martin Skrtel having a full head of hair just doesn't look right."

With a fourth commentating: "Martin Skrtel having hair never ceases to amaze me."

Skrtel was visiting his former employers alongside Lucas Leiva, prior to Liverpool's pre-season clash with Bayern Munich.

The Reds are looking to secure victory at the Singapore National Stadium and end their Asia Tour on a high.

They have one more friendly, against German side Darmstadt on 7 August before kicking the Premier League season off against Chelsea on 13 August.
