The Boston-based American investors purchased Liverpool in October 2010 for £300million, saving the club from the disastrous tenure of former owners George Gillett and Tom Hicks.
Led by principal owner John W. Henry, Liverpool have risen back to the top of the game and won the Premier League and Champions League in the past three seasons under manager Jurgen Klopp.
Having previously bought Major League Baseball side the Boston Red Sox, Henry and his group are seen as wise investors, having rebuilt part of Liverpool's Anfield stadium, as well as a new state of the art training facility.
The owners haven't been immune to criticism though with supporters irked at a lack of activity in the transfer market which is often defended by manager Klopp.
Following the Reds 2019 European Cup winning heroics, the side made no major first team signings in the summer window, but still managed to follow up with a first top flight win in 30 years.
January 2021 also saw a bizarre turn of events when Liverpool saw all three of their first-choice centre backs taken out of action for the season with injury.
The club waited until the final day of the winter window to sign Ben Davies from Championship side Preston, and Ozan Kabak from Bundesliga.2 team Schalke.
At the time, Klopp again defended his employers, saying Covid had affected finances.
"This club, with these owners, will always be very responsible with the things we do," Klopp said in January.
"If the world would be a normal place, everything would be fine, we won the league, won the Champions League, the club is in the best possible situation, then you have three senior centre-halves all injured - is that a situation where usually we would do something?
"Yes, definitely, but we are not in that situation so I don't know if something will happen or not.
"We have to deal with the situation like we did it so far and we have to get through this."
Henry also had to stage an embarrassing climbdown earlier in the year when he and a number of other club owners were humiliated with the failed European Super League project.
And now some supporters may be surprised to see FSG have money available to purchase the Penguins, one of the NHL's most famous franchises.
Fans are eagerly awaiting updates on a contract extension for the unstoppable Mohamed Salah right now, but this might have to wait.
