Viktor Gyokeres leaves Coventry for Sporting Lisbon
Coventry chairman Doug King had this to say over the departure of Gyokeres, who had also been linked with a Premier League move this summer: "After a long discussion, we have finally concluded a deal that is right for all parties concerned and confirm the transfer of Viktor Gyökeres to Sporting Lisbon.
"Viktor has made a huge impression in his time with us and leaves many great memories and we wish him every success with his new club. Once again, the quality of the coaching staff at our club has been showcased.
"This is a record transfer fee for Coventry City but as is normal will be paid over an extended period, with Brighton & Hove Albion taking a meaningful percentage share.
"We have already been active in the market as we rebuild for the new season and will continue to recruit selectively but these funds will also support the extensive infrastructure projects the club is undertaking."

Fulham youngster signs new contract, leaves on loan
Fulham have announced that Under-21s centre-back Ibane Bowat has signed a new deal until the summer of 2025, with the option to extend that contract by a further 12 months.
The 20-year-old will spend the 2023-24 season on loan at Austrian Bundesliga side TSV Hartberg.
"I'm delighted to sign a new contract and extend my time with Fulham. I feel I'm developing well as a footballer, and the staff in the academy and first team have been excellent with me," Bowat told the club's official website.
"Last season was a big step for me going to the Netherlands on loan and getting experience playing men's football, so it was important I continue to play senior football this season. Going on loan to TSV Hartberg in Austria will mean I'll be playing top flight football in Europe, against big teams, and it's an opportunity I didn't want to miss.
"They have a great setup, and playing under Markus Schopp, along with his coaching staff, was very appealing to me, so I'm keen to get started and taking part in their pre-season games."

James Furlong signs new Brighton deal until 2025
Under-21s head coach Shannon Ruth told the club website: "We're really pleased that James has committed himself to the club for two more years.
"He has progressed well over the past two years since stepping up into our Under-21 programme and then he had a really valuable loan at Motherwell earlier this year where he got his first exposure to first team football.
"He featured heavily in their team as they finished the season strongly. This was an important experience at this stage of his career.
"He will be looking to ensure that the new season is just as positive as the last and that he continues to progress."

Ipswich sign George Hirst on permanent deal
"Ipswich has felt like home for the last six months and that's a big part of why I wanted to come back here so much," Hirst told the club's official website.
"The last few months of last season were massive for me, doing what we did as a team, and that was something I wanted to carry on being part of for sure.
"The reception I got from the fans, players and staff here was brilliant, so I'm delighted to be back here and I'm looking forward to the challenge of the Championship.
"The manager improved my game massively and he's probably the best I've worked with, both him and his staff, and it helped my development no end. Once you have got that taste you don't want to go back.
"He has been absolutely amazing for me - long may it continue."
Manager Kieran McKenna added: "We're delighted to have George with us permanently.
"He is at a good age and hopefully has his best years ahead of him. He has the potential to improve and the willingness to learn and show he can be a really good forward at the next level.
"We think this is the right team for him to do that in and he thinks the same, so that makes for a really good move for all parties."
Ipswich chief operating officer Luke Werhun also commented on the transfer, saying: "We're delighted George has signed for the club on a permanent basis. It's a deal we've been working on for a long time and I'm so pleased it's finally over the line.
"George made a significant contribution during the second half of last season, scoring some very important goals to help us win promotion to the Championship. We're excited to see him continue his development at the club."
