Klopp makes decisions on Van Dijk and Konate as Liverpool face Norwich in opener

However, there's no place in the Reds' starting XI for Ibrahima Konate, who is Liverpool's only summer signing thus far.

The signing of Konate and return of Van Dijk, who had been out since last October, is welcome at Liverpool, who suffered numerous injury problems in defence last season. talkSPORT's Simon Jordan believes Jurgen Klopp hasn't made enough signings so far this summer.

He told talkSPORT: "If everybody in the room gets better and you don't, there will come a consequence for that."

Elsewhere, there are surprise starts in midfield with James Milner, Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain getting the nod. Kostas Tsimikas starts at left-back in place for the injured Andy Robertson.

As for Norwich, Chelsea loanee Billy Gilmour starts the Carrow Road clash.
