Iconic former Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish and boyhood Manchester United fan and former starlet Andy Ritchie stood in the dugouts on as both clubs rolled back the years.
Liverpool were defending their 'Legends of the North' title from back in May after a 3-1 win at Old Trafford, and this fixture saw plenty of familiar faces.

Another player in Liverpool's XI that earnt a good reception was former Reds midfielder Xabi Alonso, who also captained his side for the tie.
Meanwhile, Manchester United legend Keane - who played 472 for the Red Devils - unsurprisingly had a less friendly welcome and was booed by the Anfield faithful as he came on with twenty minutes to go.
Liverpool had found themselves 1-0 down thanks to a goal from none other than Berbatov in the 6th minute of the game.

The Bulgarian - who scored five times against Liverpool in his career — scored a delicious, first time, right-footed volley, marking the only goal of the first-half.
Shortly after the restart, though, Mark Gonzalez - who netted twice in the reverse fixture in May - found the net to bring Liverpool level.
Keane then came on for Man United, alongside Denis Irwin - who scored 33 goals for the club in between 1990 and 2002.
