Tottenham have been told Jerome Boateng would be a good short-term solution to solve their defensive frailties.
Sunday's 3-1 defeat at the hands of Manchester United brought up an unwanted stat for them as they dropped yet more points from a winning position.
Spurs have dropped 18 points from winning positions in the Premier League this season. Only Brighton (20) have dropped more in the top flight this term.
It's the most points that a Jose Mourinho team has dropped from winning positions in a single Premier League campaign, something you wouldn't normally associate from a side managed by the Portuguese.
These woes have led to suggestions that Spurs need to recruit in defence and Sky in Germany report that they're in talks for veteran defender Boateng.
The 32-year-old, who won the World Cup with Germany in 2014, will be available on a free transfer this summer with his ten-year stay at Bayern Munich set to end.
European football expert Kevin Hatchard highlighted how Boateng has played a huge part in Bayern's season, starting 23 of their 28 Bundesliga matches.
Hatchard also believes Boateng would be the good stop-gap defender for Spurs, who look vulnerable in defence.
"He is very much back this season," Hatchard told talkSPORT.
"Hansi Flick is a big supporter of Boateng, he's played him in the vast majority of the games and he wanted to keep him.
"But the club deliberately leaked the news he wasn't going to be given a new contract and would leave in the summer.
"I think he would be a good short-term option for Spurs.
"If he shows the form he's shown this season then he could do well. And he's free."
