He was left in disbelief and so were the Sydney coaching staff as they held their heads in their hands.

Luckily for the striker, his side were already 3-0 up inside half an hour and won 3-1 but he won't be forgetting that for a long, long time.

Describing the miss, commentators said: "You will never see that again. That is the most astonishing miss.

"Poor old Pat Wood, he must be wishing the ground would just swallow him up. It should be 4-0."
