The Brazilian was handed the nickname Hulk because of his muscular frame and likeness to Incredible Hulk actor Lou Ferrigno.
But now he appears to adopt a much leaner physique as he enters the twilight of his career.

Atletico showed off the results of the body transformation by releasing a video on their Twitter account.
The clip states the forward dropped a stone of weight in a short period of time and tweeted the caption: "Hulk before the game: 97.6 kg, "Hulk after the game: 91.9 kg.
"Did he run a lot during the game? The man is a machine on the field!"
Hulk made his name in Europe after signing for Portuguese giants FC Porto in 2008, where he picked up four league titles and a Europa League winners medal in 2011.

The Brazilian came close to a Premier League switch during his time at Porto but opted for Zenit Saint Petersburg over Chelsea.
After a four-year spell at Zenit, he swapped Russia for China in 2016.

Hulk made headlines in 2019 when he started dating the 32-year-old - niece of his ex-wife Iran Angelo - after ending his 12-year relationship with his her just a few months earlier.
The pair married in March 2020 while he was playing for Shanghai SIPG and welcomed their baby daughter in 2022.
