Former Liverpool and Schalke defender Kabak scored in Hoffenheim's game at Eintracht Frankfurt on Wednesday, but his side lost 4-2 to go four matches without a win. Andre Breitenreiter's team have had a difficult fixture list of late - suffering defeats to Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig while picking up just one point from 12 - but they'll be increasingly concerned after conceding 10 goals in their last four. Kevin Akpoguma was one of three players introduced at half-time in Frankfurt, and the Nigeria centre-back is set to start here alongside Kabak and Kevin Vogt, with Stanley Nsoki likely to miss out due to illness. Danish winger Robert Skov is another half-time substitute from the midweek match who will could start for Hoffenheim, but midfielder Grischa Prömel and striker Munas Dabbur two notable long-term injury victims.
Wolfsburg have climbed to eighth after putting together a seven-game unbeaten run in the Bundesliga that has included wins in their last three. Spirits will be high after goals from Micky van de Ven and Lukas Nmecha gave them a first win over Borussia Dortmund since 2015 on Tuesday, although tempered a little by the news that emerged afterwards. Nmecha scored the second goal in injury-time after coming off the bench, but he also suffered a knee injury that not only dashed his hopes of playing this weekend but also of being included in Germany's World Cup squad. The other Nmecha brother, Felix, is set to feature from the off again, however, with Omar Marmoush set to join Jonas Wind up front after Patrick Wimmer was ruled out with a bout of the flu.
