Summer signing Kabak has helped Hoffenheim to one of their best starts to a Bundesliga season. The Turkey international has immediately settled in and now added to his goal on Matchday 2 with an assist for Andrej Kramaric - making his 200th Bundesliga appearance - in last Sunday's 1-1 draw at Hertha Berlin. The result means TSG start the weekend in fifth, but only three points off Union Berlin and Freiburg at the top. Victory by a four-goal margin would see them take to the summit at least overnight. It seems the only questions for coach Andre Breitenreiter are whether Munas Dabbur keeps his place alongside Kramaric or Georginio Rutter comes back in, and which two of Angelino, Robert Skov and Pavel Kaderabek get the nod as wing-backs as TSG look to extend their unbeaten home start.
Bremen, however, arrive in Sinsheim well equipped to get a result. Only Bayern Munich have scored more goals this league campaign than Die Grünweißen, who boast division top scorer Füllkrug leading their line. Europe's leading German marksman was on target twice last Saturday - taking his tally to seven - as Werder tore through Borussia Mönchengladbach, scoring four first-half goals in a 5-1 win that moved the promoted side up to eighth and only two points short of opponents Hoffenheim. Coach Ole Werner can welcome back Amos Pieper from suspension, meaning Niklas Stark will likely have to make way again. Leonardo Bittencourt is also fit once more after a rib injury and pushing for a start. Ilia Gruev and Christian Groß are most at risk, while a maiden goal of the campaign last time out should cement Marvin Ducksch's place in the side, despite continued heroics from Oliver Burke off the bench.
Match stats
Kabak sits tied third in the division for challenges won (109) and has the best success rate at TSG (63 per cent). He's also been directly involved in two goals.
Hoffenheim's 10 points on home soil is a league high together with RB Leipzig and Union, having won three and drawn one.
Ralf Rangnick is the only Hoffenheim coach to have more points from the first eight games of a Bundesliga season (16) than Breitenreiter (14, also achieved by Julian Nagelsmann).
Only Erling Haaland, Robert Lewandowski, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe have scored more league goals this season in Europe's top five leagues than Werder's Füllkrug (seven).
Bremen are still unbeaten on the road this term (W2, D2), picking up twice as many points (eight) as at home (four).
The last six of Werder's eight away goals in the league have come after the 82nd minute.
