Boateng returned from a back injury to come off from the bench as Hertha bagged their first win of the season in a 3-1 defeat of Bochum last weekend. It was another midfielder - Suat Serdar - who stole the show, as the summer signing from Schalke bagged his first two goals in the Bundesliga for his new club as they took home all three points. Despite being an injury-hit squad once again this weekend, Pal Dardai will be looking for his side to pick up all three points again here. Lukas Klünter has joined Stevan Jovetic and Davie Selke on the sidelines after suffering a shoulder injury at the weekend, which should see Deyovaisio Zeefuik start at right wing-back. Another player who scored his first goal for the club could come into the starting XI this weekend, with Myziane Maolida set to replace Marco Richter in Dardai's side. Elsewhere, 17-year-old Linus Gechter could make his first start in defence with Marton Dardai a doubt with an ankle issue.
While Hertha bagged their first three points of the season, promoted Fürth are still looking for theirs. Stefan Leitl's side suffered a third defeat of the new campaign at home to Wolfsburg last weekend with last season's Bundesliga 2 champions sitting bottom of the pile through four weeks of 2021/22 with a single point to their name. Fürth made late additions to their squad in the transfer window and both Jetro Willems and Sebastian Griesbeck started last weekend on debut and should keep their places here. In fact, with the likes of Gideon Jung and Jessic Ngankam still sidelined, Leitl may well stick with the same side which kept Wolfsburg to a single-goal lead until added time last weekend.
