Boateng has not started a game since 2 October, and only got 18 substitute minutes in Hertha's first match under new head coach Tayfun Korkut. Although he was on the pitch at VfB Stuttgart's Mercedes-Benz Arena when Stevan Jovetic completed his brace to rescue the Old Lady a point from 2-0 down, the veteran midfielder should be on the bench once again. Indeed, Korkut is unlikely to alter his side too much, though returning midfielders Suat Serdar and Lucas Tousart "are in contention to start". That means Ishak Belfodil, who had a goal disallowed as well as laying on the equaliser in Stuttgart, will once again partner Jovetic in attack. Hertha have been pegged back in injury-time in both of their last home matches - coughing up two points late on against Bayer Leverkusen and Augsburg - so they could really do with all three against this weekend's visitors.
Bielefeld came from behind as well on Matchday 14, earning a 1-1 draw with Cologne thanks to a second-half strike from substitute Bryan Lasme. They still have only win so far this season, however, meaning they remain second from bottom in the standings. With his side five points and three places behind Hertha, visiting coach Frank Kramer might plump for an even more attacking line-up this weekend. French forward Lasme - who opened his account in the Bundesliga last week - could get a start instead of Fabian Kunze. Fabian Klos, Musa Okugawa and Patrick Wimmer will also look to deliver for the league's lowest goalscorers, with only left-back Lennart Czyborra unavailable for this mid-season six-pointer.
Match stats
Jovetic's double in last week's draw with Stuttgart took his goal tally to four in the Bundesliga, making him the team's top scorer in 2021/22.
Hertha have the lowest shot count of all Bundesliga teams this season with 141.
Boateng is unbeaten in three games against Bielefeld (W1 D2), dating back to the 2005/06 and 06/07 seasons with Hertha.
Bielefeld have won more aerial duels (368) and covered more ground 1042.22 miles (1677.3 km) than any other team this season.
Three-goal top scorer Klos has struck twice in his last six league outings, after a six-game barren spell.
Bielefeld are this season's draw specialists, having shared the points a league-high seven times (along with Cologne).
