The 33-year-old fell in love with the Gunners as they thrilled under the management of Arsene Wenger for 22 years
Speaking to Forbes about her fandom, she said: "I think it's serendipitous, the time I was becoming passionate about football and the way Arsenal was as a club.
"The players that were playing there, the amount of trophies that were being won was incredible. Obviously having a coach like Arsene that was completely revolutionizing the game of football and also being successful doing it."
Such was Heath's love for Wenger and that side, she posted a tribute on Facebook when he departed in May 2018.
She wrote: "When I was a kid I became an Arsenal fan. I don't know Arsenal without Arsene. He gave me a club and a passion. I will forever be a gunner because of him. #merciarsene."
Heath is a two-time World Cup winner, who spent most of her playing career in America with Portland Thorns before joining Paris Saint-Germain in 2013.
For an American who refers to the beautiful game as 'football' rather than 'soccer', it was no surprise she would end up in England.
Manchester United came calling in September 2020 but the esteemed 181-cap United States international played just 11 times, scoring four goals for the Red Devils before sustaining an injury in January 2021 that kept her out for the rest of the season.
Second in the WSL when her injury happened, United slipped down the table, and they would eventually finish fourth, ten points behind winners Chelsea.
With Heath's contract with the Red Devils expiring last summer, the US international was presented a perfect opportunity.
Arsenal, her beloved club, swooped to sign her.
It was an exciting deal for all parties - even if it did bring back some bad memories for one of her new teammates.
Star striker Vivianne Miedema Miedema saw her Dutch side beaten by the US in successive tournaments - losing in the 2019 World Cup final and the quarter-finals of the Tokyo Olympics.
Speaking to the Guardian, she joked: "To be honest, I'm not really excited for any USA players to come into our team. It will just remind me of the Olympics."
The Dutch striker would have been delighted by Heath's impact as she made her debut as a late substitute during Arsenal's 5-0 victory over Manchester City at Meadow Park.
She has only started three games out of nine in all competitions due to injuries but already there are glimpses of greatness for the Gunners.
Heath fired in her first goal for the club with a half-volley from close range as the north Londoners cruised past Hoffenheim in the Champions League last October.
And the two-time Olympic champion spoke about forging a partnership with Miedema.
She said: "Her quality speaks for itself and being able to play on the same pitch is amazing. It's one of the key reasons I came to Arsenal for the quality players.
"She is obviously a big piece of the puzzle here. I am excited to continue the run because we have been playing a lot of games and we haven't had time to think about it much!
"The options in our attack are fantastic as there are a lot of ways we can hurt teams and it's really fun."
Heath also praised Kim Little telling the club's official website: "I can honestly say I have never played with a better player than Kim Little.
"I was thrilled to play with her, and witness her quality in training and in the games, she does the little things in football that are just brilliant, and honestly, I can't speak highly enough about her. On the pitch it's fantastic."
A niggling injury kept Heath out for the best part of three months before returning to full fitness at the start of the new year, but she made an instant impact on her return by scoring an injury-time equaliser against Man City.
Arsenal boss Eidevall lauded Heath's performance after their 2-1 win over Brighton, with this result ending their barren run of four games without a win in all competitions.
He said: "It's great to have a player like Tobin Heath who said in the dressing room at half time 'it's better when it's difficult."
Meanwhile, Heath remains hopeful that her performances will enable her to cement a place in next year's World Cup where she will be looking to win the trophy for the third time.
"There's no greater honour for me than representing my country," said Heath told Sky Sports.
"It's going to be a very competitive roster to make but I hope there's still a lot for me to give to the national team and I will always give my best."
And she will be looking to produce another stellar performance against her former employers, Man United, in this weekend's Women's Super League clash as she hunts a title with Arsenal - just like Wenger and her heroes.
