Heath and her teammates from the USA women's team had been at odds with their governing body for six years.
Five players - including Megan Rapinoe as well as Alex Morgan - initially made a complaint to the federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission in April 2016 over wage discrimination.
All 28 squad members then filed a discrimination lawsuit in March 2019 but after years of campaigning, a settlement was finally reached with US Soccer last month.
Under the terms of the agreement, the squad will receive $24million (£17.7m) and US Soccer has committed to pay both the men's and women's national teams equally across all competitions.
Heath - widely regarded as one of the biggest names in women's football - has 181 caps for her country and hopes more nations or governing bodies across the world will reach similar agreements in the near future.
Asked whether she'd like to see similar agreements reached across the world, Heath exclusively told talkSPORT: "Yeah definitely. I think each country is a little bit different in where they are at in their journey.
"But if we give inspiration or even a picture for anyone else to say: 'Look, that's what's going on over there. That's the new expectation or norm for women's football and we need it here,' then that was the goal.
"The group has done a lot for football, both on and off the field, and I think this is certainly the thing we are most proud of because it doesn't just influence change from a sporting perspective or a football perspective. It influences huge change towards equality for the whole world.
"It's been a long fight and it's a long time to be at odds with your employer. So, I think from that perspective, both sides are extremely happy to be able to move forward in our relationship and feel like we are growing the game together and not opposed because US Soccer will be so much better when we are working towards the same objectives.
"I will just commend my teammates and the people that have helped us along the way because it was exhausting and to think that even during that time the team was still able to be as successful as we were while facing another huge battle at the same time is just a testament to the group."
