Itten's made four Bundesliga appearances since joining Fürth on loan from Scottish Premiership champions Rangers, scoring a consolation goal in the Matchday 6 loss to leaders Bayern Munich. He was unable to repeat the trick from the bench against Cologne as the Cloverleaves fell to their sixth loss of the campaign, but is in contention to start alongside two-goal top scorer Branimir Hrgota this weekend. Havard Nielsen will make way due to injury, with former Bayern duo Timothy Tillmann and Julian Green also vying for a place in attack as Greuther seek their first-ever home win in the Bundesliga. Justin Hoogma and Hans Nunoo Sarpei is on standby, should ever-present defender Maximilian Bauer miss out with a head injury sustained on Germany U21 duty.

Bochum were promoted as Bundesliga 2 champions last season, with a three-point cushion on runners-up Fürth. They've fared only marginally better than the Bavarians in the big time, claiming four points to Greuther's three, but are currently 300 minutes without a goal. Striker Simon Zoller's absence has hit them particularly hard: he had a hand in all four of their goals up to and including Matchday 4, before suffering a serious knee injury. Sebastian Polter should continue in attack, but right-back Herbert Bockhorn is unavailable. Experienced Costa Rican Cristian Gamboa is expected to come in after recovering from an elbow injury.
