Scott Arfield's strike wasn't enough for the Glaswegians at Hampden Park as a first-half hat-trick from Martin Boyle gave Hibernian the win, meaning Rangers miss out on a final against fierce rivals Celtic.
The Ibrox outfit might be top of the Scottish Premiership but they have been in mixed form.
Losing former manager Steven Gerrard to Aston Villa hasn't helped matters.
And Goldson, who has played for the club since 2018, didn't hold back when explaining why his side lost with Van Bronckhorst watching on.
"We need something to change" the 28-year-old explained, "I don't want to say this, but we've lost a bit of hunger.
"We are champions and some think they don't need to work as hard. That's crept in all season.
"As a team we are not performing right now. Not one player can hold their head high."
But frustrated Goldson did not put Rangers' cup loss down to Gerrard leaving or caretaker boss David McCallum, instead blaming the players further.
He added: "The staff have covered everything this week. We let ourselves down and players didn't follow instructions.
"People are in the wrong positions, which we worked on yesterday [at training]."
