Steven Gerrard has been a revelation at Rangers since taking on the managerial role in 2019, and the former Liverpool captain is now highly sought after following his success in Scotland.
It was announced on Thursday that Newcastle United had finally been taken over by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund (PIF), and Gerrard's name has been mentioned as a potential successor to Steve Bruce.
Gerrard helped rebuild Rangers to their former glory, making the Liverpool legend an ideal candidate to lead the revival of Newcastle.
However, former Liverpool teammate Charlie Adam has backed Gerrard to snub the Newcastle interest, and focus on his own personal career path.

Adam spoke to the PLZ Football Show, and said: "The investment is there for Steven Gerrard to go and be Newcastle manager. He could go and have £150million to spend.
"Do I think he'll go? No, I think he will see out the job he has at Rangers. He's got a good job there, and he knows what he is doing.
"Long-term though, is this [going to Newcastle] the stepping stone to get the Liverpool job? Maybe. If there is the right project available any manager will have to look at it."
Despite Adam's advice, Gerrard is reportedly intrigued by the prospect of replacing Bruce at Newcastle according to the Daily Mail, with sources in Scotland claiming that this could be his final season at Rangers before seeking a new venture.

Gerrard managed Rangers during an unbeaten league season on their way to humbling Celtic to snatch the Scottish Championship during the 2020/21 season, leading many Liverpool supporters to believe he could be the future boss at Anfield.
It would be a fairytale appointment for Liverpool, the fans and for Gerrard, but for now the former Anfield great appears keen on retaining his Scottish title with Rangers.
Jurgen Klopp's contract currently ends in 2024, and so far there has been no discussion about the German extending his deal at Anfield, with the Liverpool boss hinting at times that he is ready to take a break from management after leaving the club.
The end of the Klopp era could open up the opportunity for Gerrard to take charge, years after establishing himself as one of Liverpool's best ever players.
With three years until Klopp's current Liverpool deal ends, former Manchester United and Tottenham star Alan Brazil believes that Gerrard should take the Newcastle job, as the perfect pathway to become Anfield boss.
Brazil told talkSport: "If Steven Gerrard comes down. What is it - 100 miles to Newcastle? Waits for Jurgen to head off into green pastures and slips in because I think Amanda Staveley is a big Liverpool fan. It all fits in. It all fits in, of course it does."
