Gary Neville has been mocked by Jamie Carragher after making a U-turn on his preferred Manchester United starting lineup.
Ex-Red Devils captain Neville was asked on Twitter during a September Q&A what his preferred United XI with every player fit and available was.
In his reply, he included attack-minded men such as Paul Pogba, Bruno Fernandes, Mason Greenwood, Cristiano Ronaldo and Edinson Cavani.
But following Ole Gunnar Solskjaer 's side 4-2 defeat to Leicester City on Saturday, Neville claimed the Red Devils required more "workhorses" in the team as opposed to flooding it with attackers.
Fellow Sky Sports pundit Carragher was quick to point out the inconsistency in his argument, tweeting: "You literally picked a team with 5 attackers in 2 weeks ago.
"@GNev2 all over the place, the lot of you," before adding three laughing-crying emojis.
The Liverpool legend was met with a response from the former United skipper, who replied, beginning with a zipped-mouth emoji: "That was before Villarreal and Everton at home!"
"Not in this run of games. Nuance is lost on Twitter or with you."
Carragher followed up by quoting his tweet and wrote: "Nuance," along with three more laughing-crying emojis.
On Saturday evening, Neville was critical of Solskjaer's selection as he believes the stars at Old Trafford do not work as hard as those of rivals teams off the ball.
"The great players are able to do it both ways but those players are biased to the attacking side of the game, they just are," he stated when speaking on Sky Sports.
"What they need is to have the work ethic of [ Manchester City 's] Bernardo Silva and Kevin de Bruyne, [Liverpool's Roberto] Firmino and [Sadio] Mane, players who are world class, who work like absolute dogs every single game.
"I don't see that at Manchester United with some of their talented players.
"When I think of the names I mentioned in that Manchester United team they don't work as hard as Mane, Firmino, De Bruyne and Bernardo Silva so better players and works harder means you're going to finish higher than them simple as that so you better start working as hard as they do."
Neville added: "Manchester United at this moment in time are imbalanced and the performances are now getting what they deserve in terms of results and it needs to change.
"The performances need to be a lot better and today [at Leicester] it was no surprise.
"I think the performances over the season haven't been good enough even if they're winning against Newcastle - even when everyone was getting carried away it wasn't good enough that day.
"Manchester United off the ball aren't good enough."
