The Oasis legend joined talkSPORT on Thursday to discuss the two big loves of his life - music and football - and talk soon turned to the Portugal superstar, who sealed a stunning return to Old Trafford after 12 years last month.
Gallagher admitted he couldn't quite believe that Ronaldo was nearing a move to the blue of City, but he is delighted he returned to the red half of Manchester instead.
"I would not have been pleased about that," the rock 'n' roll star told the talkSPORT Breakfast.
"When the story came I texted someone I knew up at City saying, 'tell me this isn't true', and he was like, '… well, apparently…'.
"Instantly, I was thinking there's something's going on there with United.
"But I'm glad he's gone, I'm glad he's gone to United. I'm happy he's gone there.
"United fans always get giddy though, when [Alexis] Sanchez arrived they thought they'd win the league."
Gallagher knows all about how overexcited United fans can get about their players, and recalled a conversation he had with a rival supporter when Adnan Januzaj first broke onto the scene.
The Belgian forward was hailed as a future star when he came through into the United's senior squad, but now has forgotten man status.
So much so, that Gallagher apparently doesn't know that Januzaj now plays in Spain for Real Sociedad…
He recalled: "I remember a Man United fan looking at me in the eye saying: 'This kid is going to change world football'.
"I don't know where he is now… probably working in the chippy somewhere."
Maybe we can add LaLiga football to the list of things 'our kid' doesn't like, then…
