Freiburg scored all their goals in the first half of a sensational 6-0 success at Gladbach last Sunday, a result that left them sitting pretty in fourth. Having watched six different goalscorers end his side's three-game losing streak, Christian Streich shouldn't take too long weighing up his options for this week. Centre-back Philipp Lienhart is still level with Lucas Höler as Freiburg's leading goalscorer after both men got their fourth of the season against the Foals, while another central defender - Nico Schlotterbeck - also got in on the act with the final goal of the game. With attacking midfielder Vincenzo Grifo and Germany left-back Christian Günter continuing to provide great service, a likely unchanged Freiburg XI will be brimming with confidence.
Hoffenheim have now scored 11 times in their last three matches, climbing to fifth after a 3-2 home win over Eintracht Frankfurt last time out. Florian Grillitsch missed that game with a cold and renains doubtful, which could be to the benefit of American defender Chris Richards. Both could play with the Austria international Grillitsch in midfield, however, especially if Dennis Geiger doesn't shake off the muscle problem that forced him out of the Eintracht game early in the second half. Andrej Kramaric was introduced as a late substitute, meanwhile, with Hoffenheim head coach Sebastian Hoeneß revealing afterwards that the Croatian striker was not quite at 100 percent after some recent injury scares. Kramaric has been a talismanic figure for the Sinsheim club in recent seasons, though, so he stands a good chance of returning to the team this week at the expense of Munas Dabbur.
Match stats
Freiburg have scored more goals from set pieces (13) than any other Bundesliga team this season.
Günter is in line to appear in his 250th Bundesliga match. He has been in the starting line-up for each of the past 93 matchdays, the longest current record of any player in the league.
Streich has recorded 99 Bundesliga wins as coach, so could enjoy a milestone result on Saturday.
Hoffenheim forward Kramaric could enjoy a couple of landmark moments of his own: the Croatian has scored 99 goals in 199 competitive outings for the club.
The Sinsheim side have won three successive Bundesliga matches for the first time under Hoeneß.
Alongside Bayern Munich, Hoffenheim have hit the woodwork more often than any other team this season (eight times).
