Kubo made his sixth league start of the season, one that has seen him shine thus far in the Spanish city of San Sebastian.
And shortly after the restart against Bilbao, he scored a fine goal to put his team 2-0 up.
Brais Mendez's pass into the box found Umar Sadiq, whose deft touch was laid into the path of the onrushing Kubo.
The 22-year-old hit a first-time effort into the bottom right corner to spark jubilant scenes from the home fans behind the goal.

Kubo then ran away in celebration and pretended to pull up with an injury before twerking in hilarious fashion.

Kubo failed to make a single appearance for Madrid across his three years as the club before being sold to Sociedad.
