Manchester United ace Bruno Fernandes has broken his silence after their defeat to Manchester City on Saturday, insisting he and his team-mates must "speak less and do more".
The Red Devils were comfortably beaten 2-0 by Pep Guardiola's side at Old Trafford after an own goal by Eric Bailly and a strike from Bernardo Silva.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Fernandes said: "We have to speak less and do more.
"I am saying the same stuff. We have to change because this has happened many, many times already. What we did was not enough.
"If we want to be at the same level as them [City] we have to do more because they showed we are not at the same level.
How did you rate Bruno Fernandes' performance against Manchester City? Let us know in the comments below!
"Everyone has to look at themselves. You have to look in the mirror at what you are doing wrong. You cannot change the mentality of anyone else, you have to look at yourself and understand what you can do better."
Fernandes didn't cover himself in glory against City, failing to stop the cross for Bailly's own goal and showing little urgency in midfield.
Pundit Graeme Souness slammed the Portuguese's first half performance during the break, claiming he didn't do his "job".
The ex-Liverpool manager said: "It's a simple thing but fundamental - stop the cross. Do your mate in the middle of the goal a favour by stopping the cross.
"That was a joke. The second goal came from the same people not doing their jobs."
Fernandes was also hammered by Man Utd legend Gary Neville, who singled out his woeful display against City during commentary.
The retired defender said: "Fernandes has lost the ball and chased after it, leaving his position. So emotional Bruno Fernandes.
"He is too emotional. Emotion isn't going to win this game, trust me."
Man Utd's defeat leaves them fifth in the Premier League table, nine points behind leaders Chelsea and three points behind West Ham in fourth - having played a game more.
The Red Devils have picked up just four points from their last five league games and have fixtures against Villarreal, Chelsea and Arsenal coming up after the international break.
Many critics and fans are calling for manager Ole Gunnar Soslkjaer to be sacked after the team's poor start to the season and significant summer investment.
United signed Cristiano Ronaldo, Raphael Varane and Jadon Sancho during the recent transfer window, with the latter failing to score a goal or produce an assist since his £73million move from Borussia Dortmund.
Will Bruno Fernandes become the best footballer in the world? Have your say!
Assessing the team's performance, United legend Roy Keane said: "The difference in class, quality, decision making, everything. It was men against boys.
"United are so awful it's unbelievable. Phil Foden said it's a tough place to come. It's not. Ask Everton, ask Aston Villa, ask Liverpool.
"Ole has to take responsibility. I've defended him. They need to get more out of these players. Some of them just aren't up to playing for Manchester United."
