Faustino Asprilla, the charismatic Colombian striker who dazzled at Parma between 1992 and 1999, has spoken about his experience in Italy and also given his opinion on some current football topics.
Now 52 years old, Asprilla has discussed his free and spirited lifestyle that came with no rules.
"I didn't follow the rules," he explained in an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport.
"One day Nevio Scala asked me to run along the walls of the citadel and I told him I wasn't Forrest Gump.
"Football for me has always been fun. No rules, no schemes.
"How am I doing nowadays? I'm excellent. I have a farm, I sell sugar cane to the Colombian government and through an advertising campaign I sell condoms.
"You know, sex has always been important to me. I am Asprilla: lots of sex, no rules and pure life."
Asprilla compares himself to Vinicius
On the style of play currently being practised in football, Asprilla stated that he doesn't like the lack of dribbling, although he didn't hesitate to highlight the figure of Vinicius.
"I watch football, but they all look like soldiers under the coach's orders," he said.
"Tell me one player who dribbles nowadays.
"I like Vinicius from Real Madrid, I see myself in him a bit."
