The 28-year-old has established himself as a key player in the Fulham squad since he joined the club from Manchester United in the summer of 2022.
Pereira has featured in 97 competitive matches for the West London side, chipping in with 10 goals and 15 assists.
The Brazil international has made 15 of those appearances during the current Premier League season, contributing to their attacking efforts with a couple of goals, including a strike in the recent 2-2 draw against Liverpool.
Palmeiras submit Pereira proposal
While Pereira remains an important part of the Fulham side, he has emerged as a potential transfer target for Brazilian giants Palmeiras.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Palmeiras have sent an 'initial proposal' to Fulham over a potential transfer.
Palmeiras are said to view Pereira as a 'dream target' as they look to bolster Abel Ferreira's squad ahead of the 2025 season.
Pereira has previous experience of playing in Brazil after 53 competitive appearances during a loan spell with Flamengo.
The midfielder made a costly error in the 2021 Copa Libertadores final against Palmeiras, before he finally got his hands on the coveted trophy in 2022, along with a winners' medal in the Copa do Brasil.
Fulham relucant to sanction Pereira departure
Romano's transfer update indicates that Palmeiras are yet to hear a response from Fulham over their proposal for the former Man United man.
However, the Cottagers are saidto view Pereira as 'untouchable', meaning it is unlikely that he will be allowed to leave the club in the January transfer window.
Pereira is currently under contract until the summer of 2026, with Fulham holding an option to extend the player's deal by a further 12 months.
Meanwhile, on the pitch, Fulham will have to cope without Pereira's services for Sunday's home clash against relegation-threatened Southampton.
Pereira will serve a one-match ban after picking up his fifth yellow card of the season in last Sunday's 2-2 draw at Anfield.
