Sheffield Wednesday, Portsmouth, Ipswich Town and their fellow football league sides will all enter the FA Cup after the draw for the first round was made.
One of the most historic tournaments in football will welcome 48 sides from Leagues One and Two as it continues its journey to Wembley in June next year. Liverpool are the current holders, but with no Premier League or Championship involvement until the third round teams from lower down the pyramid will assume the limelight.
Wednesday, arguably the biggest name in the first round, will play Morecambe whilst League One pace setters Plymouth Argyle have been drawn against Grimsby Town. Ryan Reynolds continues to bring Hollywood to football and his Wrexham side, who must first beat Blyth Spartans in a replay, could face Oldham Athletic or Chester.
Coalville Town made their own piece of FA Cup history by knocking out Notts County, who are the first winners of the competition since 1904 to be ousted in the qualifying rounds. Alvechurch, who sit 19th in the seventh tier of the football pyramid, have been drawn with Cheltenham Town.
Teams from the National League and below have been aiming to reach the landmark round, with ties taking place on November 5-6. For several outfits a tie on the road, especially those selected by broadcasters, can be huge money spinners.
