The Red Devils secured three points which ultimately helped them to the Premier League title in 2009/10 season under the guidance of Sir Alex Ferguson, whilst piping arch-rivals Liverpool to the trophy.
Berbatov rounded off the win against Chelsea by grabbing the third from close range four minutes from time, turning in Cristiano Ronaldo's free-kick as United's fans finally sensed their title charge was hitting top gear.
The Bulgarian revealed the brilliant tale behind his goal, after exchanging words with teammate Nemanja Vidic.
"So Ronaldo is about to take a free-kick, we all knew he's going to shoot anyway," Berbatov says in a clip on his Instagram page.
"But my job was to try to anticipate where the ball would drop to get a touch on it and score.
"So in the box, Vida [Nemanja Vidic] comes to me and he starts speaking Serbian. And yes, people, I can speak Serbian, I'm clever like that.
"So he's like, 'Brate', which is brother in English, 'I'm gonna block your guy, you're gonna run from him and you're gonna score'. I'm like, 'okay, let's do that'.
"The point I try to make is this: always look for advantages in the game. Even if it means speak[ing] a different language so nobody understands what you are going to do.
"So Ronaldo took the free kick, I start running, Vida blocked the guy, and for me it was easy to get a touch on the ball and BAM, I score."
Pretty neat, huh? Well, it appears Berbatov doesn't take kindly to teammates trying to take credit for his goals.
He continued: "And then Vida was chasing me screaming, 'Berba, this is my goal!'
"I'm like, 'F*** off, Vida, it's my goal!' But, of course, it was a team effort and it was a good goal."
Manchester United need some inspiration from the likes of Berbatov, as they continue to endure a lacklustre campaign under interim manager Ralph Rangnick.
The Red Devils are currently fourth in the Premier League on 43 points, two points ahead of fifth-placed West Ham, having both played 25 games.
Oh how they'd love to have a goalmachine like Berba leading their line, alongside his old mate, Ronaldo.
