Ex-Liverpool star Can enraging Dortmund boss after 'intimidating' teammates

Former Liverpool man Emre Can could be given the boot by new Borussia Dortmund boss Edin Terzic, as the German is fed up with the midfielder's 'intimidating' behaviour Emre Can could be axed by Borussia Dortmund this summer because of his attitude

Former Liverpool midfielder Emre Can is reportedly in hot water with Borussia Dortmund's new boss Edin Terzic - because the 'irritating' German star is constantly lecturing and intimidating his teammates.

Can was a huge fan favourite at Anfield, where he clocked up over 160 appearances. The 28-year-old was even adored by Jurgen Klopp; who was left gutted when Can decided to join Juventus at the end of his contract back in the summer of 2018.

After two years in Italy, Klopp gave Can a ringing endorsement after it had been confirmed that he had signed for Dortmund, with the German coach even hailing the playmaker as a "perfect match" for the Bundesliga outfit. However, Can has failed to impress Terzic, who replaced former boss Marcos Rose back in May.

A new report from BILD has outlined that the new Dortmund chief is less than impressed with Can's attitude. The former Juventus man is known to be confident and outspoken, but Can's constant lecturing of his teammates has irked his new boss - so much so that Dortmund would be prepared to offload the midfield maestro if a suitable offer was tabled for his services this summer.

It is claimed that the club do not believe that Can's performances justify his behaviour off the pitch, and that his Dortmund teammates are also fed up of his condescending ways.

Can was plagued by injury issues last year and was restricted to just 19 starts in the Bundesliga for Dortmund, who were left lagging behind Bayern Munich in the race for the German title. Can is currently sidelined with a muscle injury that he picked up during pre-season testing.

Although Dortmund are keen to give Can the boot, the club accept that they could struggle to find any suitors willing to take on his extortionate salary.

It is believed that Can currently rakes in around £138,000-a-week, which would more than likely be a stumbling block for any teams who would be willing to take a punt on the former Kop favourite.

Can still has two years left to run on the deal he penned following his £21million switch from Juventus back in 2020. If there is a lack of interest in the outspoken star, then the Bayern Munich academy graduate could even be left to rot in the reserves by Terzic, who has been busy remoulding his squad in the transfer market this summer following Erling Haaland's £51m exit to Manchester City.
