Both teams endured a hectic end to the previous campaign, with Chelsea's change of ownership throwing a spanner into the works of their season while Everton survived relegation by the skin of their teeth.

Chelsea have been frustrated in the transfer market after missing out on the likes of Raphinha and Jules Kounde to Barcelona, although they have done well in the last month to hire Kalidou Koulibaly and Marc Cucurella.

Everton have moved slow in the market so far, but do look set to sign Amadou Onana from Lille.

The last meeting between the two sides ended in a surprise win for the Toffees towards the end of the campaign which all but sealed their place in this year's Premier League.
