He then provided an assist to his teammate when he clipped in a ball to Haaland who then produced an incredible scissor kick from around 12 yards out.
The Norwegian, who looks unstoppable at the moment, added another in the second half.
Dortmund went on to win 4-0 but they are still well off the pace in the Bundesliga. They are down in sixth place and 13 points behind leaders Bayern Munich, who suffered a shock defeat on Saturday.
Haaland and Sancho have been the stars for the German club this season, who have been somewhat disappointing.
The striker has 17 goals in 17 league games this season - still a way behind top scorer Robert Lewandowski who has 26.
In total, Haaland has 43 goals in 43 appearances for Dortmund since he joined from Red Bull Salzburg in January 2020.
