German 'Mono' Burgos is set to be sacked as head coach of Newell's Old Boys after a run of poor results.
Diego Simeone's charismatic former assistant has overseen 13 games since taking charge in mid-March, in which Newell's have won three, drawn five and lost five.
As such, according to TyC Sports, Burgos will not be in the dugout for the Argentine club's next game on Thursday.
"In [the space of] two weeks, the team has self-destructed," explain TyC.
The most painful defeats from Newell's perspective have been the Clasico against Rosario Central, which they lost 3-0, and the Copa Argentina elimination at the hands of Sarmiento on Monday.
It didn't even last three months
Burgos was presented as the new head coach of Newell's on March 16, but just over two months later he has been dismissed, according to reports. At the time of writing, the club have not yet made a statement.
