Frankfurt started slowly, but results have picked up since Götze's first goal back in the Bundesliga helped them to a 4-3 win at promoted Werder Bremen. Six points from their last three, including wins over RB Leipzig and VfB Stuttgart, have taken the Eagles up to seventh in the table, only two points adrift of the top four. Götze's started every game for Oliver Glasner's UEFA Europa League holders, Daichi Kamada has become undroppable with four goals and three assists, while Randal Kolo Muani has been a revelation. The summer signing's two goals and four assists resulted in a maiden pair of senior France caps during the September international break. Elsewhere in the side, left-back Luca Pellegrini is expected to go straight back into the starting line-up after sitting out the Stuttgart win. Jesper Lindstrom could also be recalled following a cold.

Union could be going up against the Bundesliga's all-time best XI - they'd still fancy their chances. The league leaders are the only unbeaten team left in this season's division, only dropping points in draws with Mainz and defending champions Bayern Munich. They boast the 2022/23 campaign's top scorer in the six-goal Sheraldo Becker, whose three-goal strike partner Jordan will be itching to show the USA what they're missing after being left out of Gregg Berhalter's September roster. Defender Timo Baumgartl made a triumphant return to start on Matchday 7 after beating cancer, while head coach Urs Fischer signed a contract extension during the week. The only real question-mark regarding team selection is whether full-back Julian Ryerson will be recalled, having dropped to the bench for the 2-0 win against Wolfsburg.

Match stats

Kamada has been directly involved in half of Frankfurt's 14 Bundesliga goals this season. With four goals and three assists, he's matched his total combined hand from last term.

Muani has two goals and four assists to show for his first seven Bundesliga appearances.

Frankfurt have lost two of four home matches his season, and have only won two of their last 13 Bundesliga fixtures at Deutsche-Bank Park (D4, L7).

Becker is averaging a goal every 87 minutes this Bundesliga season.

Jordan has had a direct hand in five of Union's 15 goals.
