Eintracht lost their 22-game unbeaten record at home in the Bundesliga on Saturday, with a 2-1 reverse to Hertha Berlin seeing them beaten for only the second time all term. The Eagles remain perilously close to the relegation zone, however, since they have drawn five of their eight Bundesliga fixtures to date and won only one. That victory came just prior to the international break when they became the first and only side to beat Bayern Munich in all competitions this season. The Hertha game represented a crash landing for Oliver Glasner's Eagles after that surprise win in Munich had seen their season take flight. So they will now look to give their Europa League campaign lift-off against Olympiacos by extending their unbeaten start to the competition. Rafael Santos Borre can be expected to return to the starting XI on Thursday, having started on the bench on Saturday, while Daichi Kamada and Goncalo Paciencia - who grabbed the consolation against Hertha from the penalty spot - are also pushing for starts after springing from the bench. Erik Durm and Tuta also had rests at the weekend, but should come back into Glasner's starting XI.
Olympiacos continued their unbeaten start to the Greek Super League season with a 2-1 win at Giannina on Sunday. That kept Pedro Martins' men a point clear of PAOK thanks to a late Youssef El-Arabi strike. There are a few familiar faces to Bundesliga fans in the Olympiacos squad, starting with former Borussia Dortmund defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos, who is likely to hold the Greek team's defence together, as well as former Mainz man Pierre Kunde. The latter was an unused substitute on Sunday and has been on the bench for Olympiacos' first two Europa League fixtures.
