The Eagles are flying high right now, having picked up more points (12) than any other Bundesliga team over their last five outings. Last week's 3-1 success at Borussia Mönchengladbach has rocketed them up the standings into fourth spot, one rung and one point ahead of Dortmund. Their confidence will be further boosted by the impressive 2-1 UEFA Champions League win over Marseille on Tuesday that kept them in contention for qualifying for the last 16. Götze provided a sublime assist for Randal Kolo Muani in that game, and the 30-year-old will be eager to dazzle once again as he faces his former employers. Jesper Lindström also looks undroppable at the moment - the Dane has five league goals already this term - but Frankfurt coach Oliver Glasner will be forced to make at least one change after Christopher Lenz sustained an injury against Marseille. Luca Pellegrini is expected to begin as a like-for-like replacement at left wing-back.
Dortmund also posted a noteworthy Champions League result of their own in midweek, keeping out former striker Erling Haaland and Manchester City in a 0-0 draw that sealed their berth in the next round. That extended their unbeaten run to three matches in all competitions, and BVB will be keen to continue that as well as end a sequence of three successive away defeats in the Bundesliga. Bellingham is a nailed-on starter as the team's driving force and main source of goals - the 19-year-old has eight in all competitions in 2022/23. Fellow teenager Gio Reyna has looked good since returning from injury, meanwhile, scoring his first league goal of the season in last weekend's 5-0 thrashing of Stuttgart. Marco Reus is still rated as doubtful following an ankle complaint, while Marius Wolf should begin at left-back if Raphael Guerreiro is not over a thigh strain.

Match stats
Bellingham's brace against Stuttgart last week made him - at the age of 19 years and 115 days - the third-youngest player ever to hit a double for BVB. Only Jadon Sancho (18 years, 216 days, in October 2018) and Daniel Simmes (18 years, 230 days, in March 1985) were younger.
Anthony Modeste is in line to make his 200th Bundesliga appearance.
Dortmund have beaten Frankfurt more often (47) than they have any other Bundesliga team.
Kolo Muani has six assists in his first 10 Bundesliga games. Only two players have reached that landmark quicker since detailed data collection began: Bayern Munich's Douglas Costa (nine games) and Werder Bremen's Diego (seven games).
Djibril Sow will make his 100th Bundesliga outing for Frankfurt if he features.
Frankfurt coach Glasner has lost all six games his teams have contested against BVB, losing four times with Wolfsburg and twice with the Eagles.
