The Manchester United loanee was thrown into the deep end by Gers boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst which proved to be the right call, with Rangers fans celebrating his success with his own song.
It was a case of deja vu for the 19-year-old, who also scored his first Red Devils goal within the first five minutes of him being on the pitch, having been substituted on in their last-16 first leg tie against AC Milan in the Europa League last season.
On that occasion he produced a clever, flicked header over Gianluigi Donnarumma.
However, his goal for Rangers was a lot more simple as he tapped into an empty net following a driving run and low cross from Joe Aribo.
It was a wonderful moment for the youngster, and one that Gers fans were keen to recognise as they created a superb chant for Diallo.
Based on the famous track 'Voulez-Vous' by ABBA, Diallo's song goes: "Diallo. Ah ha. Running down the wing. Ah ha. Hear the Rangers sing. Ah ha. We are gonna win the league."
Whilst the new Rangers hero was delighted to get on the scoresheet, his manager, Van Bronckhorst would not have been pleased with how the match went overall.
Two goals in four first half minutes saw the defending Champions surrender the lead and go into the break behind.
Clearly the Dutchman gave the players a rocket during the interval, as club captain James Tavernier put his side back on terms within four minutes of the restart.
The lead was then wrestled back by Rangers when Connor Goldson, headed in from close range, to give the away side the lead with 18 minutes left on the clock.
However, that was enough time for Ross County to comeback again, and in the sixth minute of stoppage time Matthew Wright tapped in after Allan McGregor failed to grab a loose ball from a corner.
It's a bitter pill for the league leaders to swallow, who could now have their lead at the top reduced to two points, if fierce rivals Celtic beat Dundee United.
Speaking after the match Van Bronckhorst was understandably very unhappy to lose the lead so late on.
"It's very disappointing, it was a hard game, we started really well, first goal after a couple of minutes, it was good," he said to Sky Sports.
"But then we gifted two goals to Ross County, and that made it really difficult for us.
"Second half I think we started really well, I think we dominated the whole half, created a lot of chances, I think we should have go up front [at] 3-2 and had some chances to kill the game and make the fourth and decisive goal.
"In the end, extra time, I think we were too sloppy, gave the ball away, gave the corner away and conceded the goal late in the game.
"For us, that's not something I'm used to seeing, so many goals against us in this manner, we've done a lot better in the past.
"Today I think many things went wrong, especially defensively, so it was a disappointing afternoon for us."
