David Beckham has enjoyed many highs during his career as well as some lows and this week, ahead of the release of his Disney+ documentary "Save our Squad with David Beckham" he spoke about them all, including what he thinks are his toughest and proudest moments of his career.
David Beckham's toughest moment in soccer
David Beckham recalls being devastated when he got injured while playing for AC Milan in Italy, where he ruptured his achilles tendon and the surgeon that performed the operation told him there was a possibility that he couldn't play again and expresses how it was a really tough moment.
But he explained that his toughest moment as a professional football player came while playing for the English National Team and recalls being helped by Sir Alex Ferguson to overcome that bitter experience.
"The toughest moment was when I got a red card in the World Cup against Argentina. People were doubting me as a player, as a professional, and I went through a difficult time, on and off the pitch. But I was at Manchester United at the time and I had a great manager, Sir Alex Ferguson, that supported me." he told LADbible.
He also mentioned that fans were part of his realization that brighter days would come.
"It was a great team with great teammates, and more importantly, the fans at Manchester United got me through the difficult moments."
David Beckham's proudest moment in his career
David Beckham also expressed how he's lucky to have been able to play for 22 years, while also winning many trophies as well as team and individual accolades.
He mentioned that winning the treble with Manchester United in 1999 was a big moment, due to the team winning the Premier League, The FA Cup and the Champions League all in one season.
"But my proudest moment has to be being given the captain's armband for England. Representing my country was the most important thing that happened in my career, and being made captain was the proudest", number seven told LADbible.
