The former Tottenham joined Sky Sports to offer his insight on their key clash with Newcastle in April.
But the star's outfit choice quickly saw him compared to singer Cheryl Cole, as he rocked a baker boy hat and padded, military style jacket whilst on punditry duty.
The ex-England international's look was reminiscent of former Chelsea star Ashley Cole's ex-wife's outfit in the music video for her hit song 'Fight For This Love', which saw her rock a military hat and jacket.
With Rose alongside Alan Brazil and Gabby Agbonlahor on talkSPORT, the Breakfast team saw the perfect opportunity to get him to talk about the famous hat, playing the tune as the show came back from a break.
Rose and Agbonlahor instantly began cracking up as the song blared out, but it was Alan Brazil who first addressed the elephant in the room.

"I've just seen the picture Dan, I've got to come clean," co-host AlaN Brazil said. "You look like a secret policeman from Doctor Zhivago, you know the old communist days. Have you seen him?

Trying to contain his laughter, Brazil said: "Oh dear. Dan, what was all that about? Was that a fashion statement, or just normal?"

"I was getting battered by everyone!"
Still laughing, he continued: "Nobody was commenting on how I did on the punditry, it was just photos, I got one of Janet Jackson and then Cheryl Cole.
"That hat went straight in the bin!"
