Rose, who is on loan from Tottenham, interjected as Pep was speaking to Sam Matterface after watching his Man City side thrash Newcastle 5-0.

Gabriel Jesus, Riyad Mahrez, David Silva and Raheem Sterling all netted for the hosts at the Etihad, with a Federico Fernandez own goal further extending City's margin of victory on an easy night for Pep's side

And it's clear that Rose - who played the full 90 minutes on Wednesday - has real respect for Guardiola and his brilliant City team… as he could not help but speak to the Spaniard despite him being in the middle of an interview with talkSPORT!

As Pep was answering a question about Gabriel Jesus, who ended his nine-game goal drought with his 10th-minute finish, left-back Rose came over and said: "Good luck in the Champions League, I hope you win."

Pep replied, 'thank you', and following a bit of umming and ahing, he admitted while laughing: "I forgot [the question]. Danny Rose comes over and I forget!"

Once reminded of the question, Pep continued: "It's good for him to score goals to feel he can score. A striker needs to score goals."

Impressed with #MCFC ruthlessness, Pep gushing in the interview afterwards.

Pep was clearly in a jovial mood following Man City's emphatic win, as he also made a joke about his team failing to convert the numerous chances they created at the Etihad.

Kevin De Bruyne is closing in on the Premier League assist record - he has 18 this season and the record is 20, set by Thierry Henry in 2002/03 - and Pep thinks the Belgium ace should have already beaten the record… if only his teammates were more reliable in front of goal.

"The assists, he's done two or three more," added the City boss, "the problem is his mates didn't convert! But he has four or five more games to do it."
