Cristiano Ronaldo 's career has been packed with honours, domestic and continental and at club and international level.
The Manchester United man's interactions with opponents show how many have tried to stop him in his tracks and few have succeeded.
The 36-year-old has enjoyed a strong relationship with a number of Brazilian colleagues, notably playing a part in Rafael and Fabio joining United, but a shared language has also allowed him to get the better of opponents from the South American country.
During his time at Real Madrid, Ronaldo excelled in a hugely successful team alongside the likes of Marcelo and Casemiro, winning the Champions League on multiple occasions.
One of those victories was followed by a Club World Cup victory over Gremio, and one of his opponents that day has told the tale of his failed attempt to get in Ronaldo's head.

Ronaldo's two goals in the 2017 Champions League final helped Real Madrid beat Juventus 4-1, and he was also on target in the Club World Cup semi-final as Zinedine Zidane's team beat Al-Jazira of the UAE.
Madrid's opponents in the final were Gremio of Brazil, and right-back Edilson was one of the men tasked with helping contain the 2017 Ballon d'Or winner.
The defender had scored in Gremio's run to glory in the Copa Libertadores, but he has revealed his attempts to put Ronaldo off his game failed miserably.
As reported by Portuguese publication Record, Edilson has spoken about the game on YouTube show 'Central do Mercado'.
"I went for a free-kick, Casemiro and Marcelo, who knew the Brazilians well, warned me that I was shooting hard," he said.
"Cristiano Ronaldo came close to me and said 'you're going to miss'. I didn't care. I shot, the ball went close to the goal, but I was really wrong"."
When the boot was on the other foot, the defender attempted to do to Ronaldo what Ronaldo had done to him.
Unsurprisingly, it didn't work.
"Then there was a foul in which he was called to score and I told him 'you're going to miss'. To which he replied 'look at it, goal'. And he scored," said the 35-year-old, who now plays for newly-promoted Brazilian Serie A side Avai.
"I looked and said 'the son of a bitch... goal!'"
Ronaldo's free-kick gave Real Madrid the lead early in the second half, and ended up being the only goal of the game.
The Spanish side would go on to retain the title in 2018, having beaten Liverpool in that year's Champions League final.
However, the 2017 winner was Ronaldo's last Club World Cup goal, with the forward leaving for Juventus a few months later and subsequently rejoining Manchester United in 2021.
