Supporters will still be pinching themselves after Spurs' announcement of the arrival of serial winner Conte as their new boss, with the former Chelsea, Inter Milan and Juventus head coach named as Nuno Espirito Santo's replacement.
The deal was described on talkSPORT as 'like signing the world's best player on a a free contract', with Conte representing the best possible appointment the north London club could have made.
The 52-year-old is an elite coach, winning six league titles during his managerial career, and arrives at Spurs fresh from leading Inter Milan to their first Serie A championship in over a decade.
And he displayed his elite mentality as he spoke to his new club for the first time in an extended interview, where he vowed to bring attacking football back to White Hart Lane and develop a team fans can be proud of.
"To be Tottenham manager is a great pleasure, it's a great honour," Conte told Spurs TV. "Now for sure I want to repay this trust.
"My coaching philosophy is very simple. To play good football, attractive football for our fans, with passion.
"To have the team stable, not up and down, I think that the fans deserve to have a competitive team with a will to fight.
"I will do everything to deserve their support."
The Italian has had an impressive managerial career, winning titles in Serie A, Serie B and the Premier League, as well as managing his country.
But the ex-Inter Milan boss says he wants his time in north London to define his career just as much as his former roles have.
"This [his success with previous clubs] is the past. I live in the present.
"For Juventus I played 13 years and I won a lot, everything, with Juventus. Then I had to come back and start as a coach.
"For Juventus to win nine titles in row, it means you have dominated. I started and then I stopped that cycle because of Inter Milan. In the last two years at Inter Milan we had the second best attacking and the best defence.
"The past with my previous clubs is important and I am proud. But, for me, the new challenge is Tottenham and I want that to become an important part of my career as manager".
Spurs had been interested in signing the former Juventus player in the summer when seeking for a permanent replacement for Jose Mourinho.
And Conte explained why he made the decision to not join the Lilywhites, leaving the position vacant for Nuno Espirito Santo to take the reigns.
"Honestly there was a call from Tottenham in the summer but I was very clear with Tottenham because I had just finished with Inter Milan two important seasons and honestly it wasn't the right time at all," the Italian said.
"To start again, another experience, I prefer to wait, I prefer to enjoy the time with my family, and also I think emotionally I was still under the last experience with Inter".
Coupled with photographs of the prestigious coach exploring the new training ground, Conte's first communication with the Spurs faithful ended with a resounding statement.
"Tottenham is an important club in England, an important in the world," he said.
"I have seen today the club and the training ground and I wanted to start to work. I've arrived at a top club.
"These type of situations push you, increase the desire to work and to do something important for the fans of this club".
If Spurs fans were already hopeful that Conte could turn their dire season around, his opening statement will have fuelled their belief in the title adorning manager even further.
