Conor Gallagher 'likely to stay at Chelsea this month'

Gallagher has established himself as a key player in Mauricio Pochettino's squad, having started 19 of the club's 20 Premier League games - only missing December's clash with Manchester United due to suspension.

As a reflection of his status in the squad, Gallagher has been entrusted with the captain's armband in several of his top-flight outings.

Despite being one of the first names on Pochettino's teamsheet, the England international has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge.

There has been a suggestion that the club's co-owners Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital would be open to selling the 23-year-old.

As a product of Chelsea's academy system, Gallagher would generate pure profit in any sale, which would help improve Chelsea's Financial Fair Play status.
