Modeste has been seemingly back to his best at the start of this season for Cologne. The Frenchman has scored four times already to help the Billy Goats to nine points from six games, suffering just one defeat so far under charismatic new head coach Steffen Baumgart. They collected a single point for the third straight game last weekend, drawing 1-1 for the third time in a row, too, this time at Eintracht Frankfurt. It was only the second game this season in which Modeste has failed to find the net, and his chances of finding the net this weekend are improved with the likely return of Mark Uth to the starting line-up. He is expected to replace Sebastian Andersson in attack, while Jan Thielmann is unlikely to feature due to illness. Luca Killian will be replaced by Jorge Mere in the centre of defence, while Jannes Horn is the only confirmed absentee coming into this weekend.
Fürth are still searching for their first Bundesliga win since 2013 after a stuttering start to their return to the top-flight. The Shamrocks showed real fight last weekend, however, when they faced Bayern Munich on home soil and came away with a 3-1 defeat. Green was in the starting XI against his former side and should remain in Stefan Leitl's side here, despite not impacting the goals. Cedric Itten got the goal against the league leaders, but he should remain on the bench with Havard Nielsen preferred in attack here. Sebastian Griesbeck also appears to have solidified a place in midfield for Fürth ahead of the likes of Adrian Fein and Timothy Tillman.
Match stats
Modeste has yet to face Fürth in his career. He has failed to find the net in only two games so far this season.
Cologne are unbeaten in four Bundesliga games for the first time since December-January 2019. It's the longest run for Steffen Baumgart as a coach in the top flight.
The Billy Goats are also unbeaten in their last four home games in the league, winning three of those.
Green is 475 minutes (10 appearances) without a Bundesliga goal for Bayern, Hamburg and Fürth.
Fürth have scored each of their four goals this season in the second half of matches.
All four of Fürth's Bundesliga wins to date fell away from home, in the 2012/13 season.
